Bill and Melinda Gates have announced that their 27-year marriage is coming to an end.
The Gates said the decision was made after “a great deal of thought and effort” in tweets sent
from their personal accounts on Monday.
The Gates, on the other hand, no longer believe that they will flourish as a couple in this “next
step” of their lives.
After she started working at Microsoft in 1987, the Microsoft co-founder met Melinda French.
On January 1, 1994, the two married and had three children together.
With the establishment of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000, the couple’s emphasis shifted to philanthropy, public health, and education.
The financial details are still unknown. Bill Gates owns 1.37 percent of the company.
