JMJ, the award-winning creator, has received yet another first!
With his own ventures, he is the first Ghanaian producer to cross 1 million streams on Boomplay.
“Riddim Of The GODS (ROG),” an aggregated music project he launched in 2019 after the success of his single Riddims
from 2009, to unearth budding artists and add value to mainstream musicians, has become a household project that all
stakeholders in the music industry look forward to every year.
He championed the first “ROG” edition in 2019, where he hosted over 32 Ghanaian musicians on a 5-part album, initiated a partnership with Africa’s biggest music streaming platform, Boomplay.
A Producer with 1 million streams on a site like Boomplay, where the majority of users are from Africa, has a decent reachwith his first audience. This is something to be proud of.
JMJ revealed and launched a HipHop version called “Fresh Kings” for this year’s ROG with the aim of highlighting 11
emcees from the new wave of diversely qualified rappers. ROG New Kings 1 and ROG New Kings 2 are the two sections of the project.
Tape 1 featured a star-studded lineup that included Bryan The Mensah, Kofi Jamar, Boiiisam, King Paluta, Keeny Ice, and Lokal are among the artists featured. Currently, there are 110,000 streams.
Over JMJ’s classic HipHop beat, Amerado, Lyrical Joe, Phrimpong, Cedi Rap, and AY Poyoo showed off their lyrical skills on Tape 2. ROG New Kings Tape 2 was released a week after the first tape, and it currently has 57,700 streams.
JMJ (Joshua Raphaelson in private life) was the first African producer to release a Riddim in

- artists remix the main song.
Boomplay is Africa’s largest music streaming site, with over 65 million subscribers who pay for a premium (ad-supported) or premium (ad-free) subscription. It gives African musicians direct access to their large home audience, which is expected to expand in the near future as internet penetration rises.
Independent artists and labels, as well as major record labels, have been distributing their music to Boomplay and
generating revenue from streaming on the website.
With superstar African artists like Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido racking up millions
of streams on Boomplay, the platform honors all artists with plaques when they reach Milestones streams.
JMJ is due for a Boomplay Streaming Plaque after reaching 1 million streams.
